Magazine Awards Name SSI as Finalist for 4th Straight Year
LOS ANGELES — For the fourth straight year, Security Sales & Integration has been named as a finalist in the Western Publishing Association (WPA) Maggie Awards program, including a nomination in the Best Public Safety/ Trade magazine category. SSI was also nominated for Best Feature Article/Trade.
Last year, SSI won the Maggie for Best Interview or Profile/Trade.
More than 1,700 entries were received for the awards, which honor the top consumer and trade magazines published west of the Mississippi River.
Judges selected SSI’s September issue, featuring an exclusive interview with former Homeland Security Director Tom Ridge, as one of the five finalists for the best public safety trade magazine.
The Maggies have also honored SSI for its exclusive August 2005 feature on the stars of Discovery Channel’s “It Takes a Thief.” Titled “‘Thief’ Reforms Security Slackers” and written by SSI Editor-in-Chief Scott Goldfine, the article is among the five nominated for best feature in a trade magazine.
SSI was also a main sponsor when the “It Takes a Thief” stars spoke at last summer’s ISC East.
Also winning accolades from the Maggies was SSI’s sister publication magazineCampus Safety, which was named a finalist for Most Improved/Trade magazine.
The 55th Annual Maggie Awards will be announced April 21 during a ceremony at the Westin Hotel at Los Angeles Airport.
