Out With the Old … In With the New (Sort of)

This month, we are launching a new and improved way for you, our reader, to obtain product and service information that is featured both editorially and by our advertisers. Our new service will definitely save you time by going to one source, thus shortening the time it takes to receive the requested information. Researching new products and services that have piqued your interest within the pages of our magazine (and on our Web site, too, at www.securitysales.com) has never been easier! 

Now, probably at some point you have used the “reader service” reply postcards that have been around since the 1970s. If you were interested in something that appeared in the magazine, you’d circle the corresponding number on the card and mail it in. While this system worked fairly well for many years, we thought it was about time for a substantial update. Although I’d like to get rid of the vintage reply card mailer altogether, we’re still going to keep it for those who like doing things the old-fashioned way. 

Practically every product listed will include a unique FreeInfo identifier number. Instead of having to contact each and every vendor by telephone or via the Web, you’ll be able to save time and effort in one of three ways: 

CALL: Pick up the phone. There’s only one toll-free number to get to any company. Dial (800) 719-6906 and at the prompt, just punch in the FreeInfo number of the company and you’re automatically forwarded to the manufacturer or service provider! 

ONLINE: You can request information via the Internet. All you have to do is register once. Then every time you need further information on a company, go online and whatever you might need is just a click away! 

REPLY CARD: Use the attached FreeInfo reply card inserted into this magazine. Simply write in the FreeInfo numbers of the companies you want to know more about, clearly fill in your company information and drop the card in the mail!

An example of the new product presentation as it will appear in our monthly “Essential Equipment” department can be seen on this page. For all of this month’s product listings, see page 116. Again, this same system will be featured in all advertisements as well. 

The benefit of this new program is that it enables you to access the information you’re looking for quickly and our advertisers can tell it’s a Security Sales & Integration reader they’re receiving an inquiry from (so they’ll know it’s a legitimate request from a true security professional). In addition, it provides our editorial team with more detailed information on the products and services you’re interested in, and helps us provide you better, more relevant content. So everyone gets what they want (and need).
