Electronic security provider Sonitrol has filled its vacant president position after adding the president title to COO Alex Gellman.
Gellman joined Sonitrol in March 2004 as senior vice president and COO after co-founding real estate database firm Apex Site Management.

Jerry Linder, a founding father of the two largest alarm associations in the West, passed away on Oct. 24.
Linder was the first president for both the Western Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (WBFAA) and the California Alarm Association (CAA), founded in 1976.

Longtime Sarnoff Corp. President and COO Craig Chambers has been named as the new president and CEO for behavior recognition software developer Cernium.
Chambers replaces Sean Patty, who will remain at Cernium as executive vice president in charge of St. Louis operations.

Siemens Building Technologies (SBT) Inc. has promoted Steve Kohler as vice president of service.
Among Kohler’s responsibilities will be overseeing SBT’s central monitoring stations in Dallas and Washington D.C.

Howard Himmelman has been hired by integrator Interface Security Systems as its regional manager of Northern California operations.
