Smart Access Platform Nexkey Can Reduce Deployment Time, Offer RMR

The company says security integrators utilizing its platform can see more profit from faster installations with less wiring and equipment.

LAS VEGAS — Located in the Emerging Technology Zone at ISC West 2019, Nexkey made its trade show debut here last week.

SSI reported last fall that the then new company could turn any lock into a smart lock. Nexkey demonstrated how exactly it can do that at its ISCW booth.

Nexkey is a smart access platform that is managed through the Cloud that uses a smartphone as the main credential. It consists of just one hardware device — wired or battery powered — installed right at the door.

The Nexkey Controller connects to any existing electric strike or magnetic lock, turning any phone into a key to open the door via Bluetooth. The Nexkey Core is a smart lock cylinder that can transform any mechanical lock into a smart lock and installs in minutes, according to the company.

“We have completely simplified the experience of access management for end users and for installers we solved the main issue driving up costs for access control — complex installations,” says Eric Trabold, CEO, Nexkey. “Users can save time and money by managing access with a device already in their pocket — the smartphone, and security integrators see more profit from faster installations with far less wiring and equipment.”

Nexkey’s software platform is comprised of one app, portal and API. It allows the user to grant access instantly, know who accessed the space and when with an automated audit trail, and remotely unlock doors for guests.

Every customer is given access to the latest software updates through one SaaS model. Locksmiths and security integrators can also see some recurring profit from Nexkey’s software platform, according to the company.

Nexkey launched its partner program for locksmiths and security integrators at ISC West and is looking to form new partnerships. Learn more about the company here.
