STid at ISC West 2019: Secure Mobile Access Control Solutions
The STid Mobile ID is a secure mobile access solution through Bluetooth and NFC smartphones, says STid North America Manager Frederick Trujillo.
ISC West 2019 will be held April 9-12 at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas.
Ahead of this year’s show, SSI spoke with STid North America Manager Frederick Trujillo to find out what the company will be showcasing at ISC West.
What is the top product or offering your company is showing off at ISC West this year, and what makes it unique or special?
STid Mobile ID, an instinctive and secure mobile access solution through Bluetooth and NFC smartphones. Makes your access control both secure and much more instinctive! STid Mobile ID brings the access badge directly onto your Android and iOS smartphones.
It works alongside and can extend or replace a traditional RFID access credentials. STid Mobile ID includes a free mobile app, the latest generation of multi-technologies Architect Blue readers, offline and online programming tools.
Our solution is extremely user-friendly, with a wide range of different identification modes available – your hand becomes a credential, even while you are making a phone call and without needing to take out your smartphone.
Beyond this, we have chosen a virtualization solution that requires no compromises to the philosophy undergirding your organization’s security policy. Think about it, why would you outsource your data to a third party? And where is the data stored? Are you independent in managing your security? No technical or technological constraints should prevent directors of security from managing their systems independently, with the freedom to host sensitive data in-house if that’s what they want.
We offer our clients an Offline & Online management tool, which keeps them in control of their security. That’s a key issue in our line of work!
STid Mobile ID Online Portal is the first user card management portal to comply with even the most demanding policy requirements, including GDPR and PIPEDA. Easy to manage, it can both issue and revoke virtual access cards remotely and ensure data privacy and protection using recommended encryption and authentication methods.
Ultimately flexible, it’s built to be compliant with the highest security standards of our clients’ business and it perfectly interfaces with your existing system. Just let your policy dictate where sensitive data must be stored: on your own internal server or in a secured STid Cloud.
What other products or offerings would you like to highlight, and what are some of their unique qualities?
Spectre – UHF scalable long range reader. Spectre is a UHF-based vehicle access control reader which is the first of a new generation: discreet by design, flexible in its configuration, secure and encrypted in its communication. Our new long-range reader is built to perform for up to four vehicle lanes/driveways with reading distances up to 45 feet, even in highly challenging environments. It’s the most robust reader on the market, yet intuitively easy to use.
Spectre is fully scalable, you can connect up to four antennas to cover all security issues and all configurations: management of a mixed fleet of vehicles — light, heavy, motorcycles, etc. — identification on wide lanes or even distinct access control for four lanes of vehicles.
This is STid’s answer to the challenges of fast-track security. Welcome to speed and security — in a single solution.
Architect – upgradable and secure access control readers. With its range of innovative Architect readers, STid has created the perfect blend of high security and upgradability. This is the first modular range of secure RFID, NFC [HCE] and Bluetooth readers offering both flexibility and simplicity.
Available in Wiegand or OSDP, Architect readers are based on a smart RFID core [optional Bluetooth] to which various interchangeable modules can be connected, such as card reader, keypad, touchscreen, biometric sensor and 125 kHz device to make your technology migrations easy to manage.
What else is new or noteworthy about the company for 2019?
In July 2018 STid opened its first North America branch office located out of Irving, Texas, focused on the introduction of STid in the U.S. and Canadian market.
We know the importance of having local presence in the U.S. for sales and technical support and for product to be available locally. In 2019 we will continue to introduce the many products and solutions we offer. Most importantly we will challenge the status quo in letting potential customers know that there is more than just one provider of access control readers and that we are flexible to work with because in the end we look towards establishing partners that we can grow with.
What is your company’s overall value proposition to installing security dealers/integrators? Why should they do business with you?
