Comcast Pairs With ‘Pets’ Movie to Showcase Xfinity Home Security System

The media company is using this marketing campaign to teach people the benefits of smart homes.

Comcast is giving an inside look into its Xfinity Home security system by teaming up with the upcoming Universal film, “The Secret Life of Pets,” to show how the smart home system can keep tabs on what’s going on in one’s home, especially with their pets.

The marketing campaign — which starts Monday — shows people what their pets do in their homes when they’re not around. Owners are seen periodically checking in on the live feeds on their smartphones and laptops to see how their pets behave when nobody’s home. The news was detailed by Marketing Daily.

“We thought it would be a way to talk about our home product that’s fun and relatable,” says Todd Arata, vice president of brand marketing for Comcast. “It’s also how people are using the product already.”

Along with the marketing campaign is Comcast’s initiative to teach people about the benefits of home automation by providing smart-home tours.

“Home automation is still kind of confusing for people,” Arata says. “For us to leverage this property is a nice way to talk about a product that people don’t know a lot about.”
