Top 10 Surveillance Videos of the Week: Trio Fails Miserably Trying to Rob House

Other top videos include a Jesus statue being stolen from in front of a church and a former correctional officer throwing a tantrum over a missing penny.

ROCKLAND, Mass. — Brendan McGuiness arrived at home to see something odd: A safe was being pushed out of his house. Two women were robbing his house, as one pushed the safe into a laundry basket for the other.

“I was like, ‘Are you serious? You’re trying to rob our house?’” McGuiness said. “She just kind of laughed at me like, “‘Oh, you got me.’”

The home’s surveillance cameras captured the entire botched robbery, which ended with three people being arrested — the two women and the man driving the getaway car.

The video shows the two women trying every door (unsuccessfully) before trying to get into the house through the window. After McGuiness confronted the two, he told them he was calling police.

“They just drove away like, ‘Why are you mad?’” McGuiness said.

Police recovered jewelry and coins in the getaway car that came from the targeted house.

“I don’t know much about burglary,” said Dan Crossman, who also lives at the house. “I do know that’s not how it’s done.”

The failed robbery leads off this week’s top surveillance videos of the week. Other top videos include a Jesus statue being stolen from in front of a church, a former correctional officer losing her mind over a missing penny and a home security camera filming firefighters stopping a fire.
