AtlasIED at ISC West 2021: IP Endpoints, Mass Communications Systems & More

By collecting feedback from integrators, dealers, and users, AtlasIED is working to bring relevant, high-quality, performance-focused solutions to market in 2021 and beyond.

ISC West 2021 will be held July 19-21 at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas. Ahead of this year’s show, SSI heard from AtlasIED Vice President of Marketing & Corporate Communications Gina Sansivero about what the company will be showcasing at ISC West.

What is the top product or offering your company is showing off at ISCW this year, and what makes it unique or special?

AtlasIED’s series of IPX Endpoints provide a high level of intelligibility, making them well-suited for broadcasting emergency announcements in loud environments like factories, school cafeterias and auditoriums, airport terminals and more. IP endpoints with integrated speakers in the IPX Series portfolio include a variety of wall- and ceiling-mounted models, vandal- and weather-resistant options, and pendant-style speakers for installation in areas with high ceilings. Additionally, AtlasIED’s analog horn speakers for large outdoor spaces can be integrated into an IP-based communications system with the addition of an IP-to-analog gateway.

To reinforce the reception of messages, security integrators can use AtlasIED IPX Endpoints with built-in LED flashers and LCD displays. In sync with pre-recorded and live audio broadcasts, colored flashers illuminate and LCDs present scrolling text with critical information regarding evacuation and lock-down procedures, for example. Through the combination of audible and visual notifications, nobody misses critical information, minimizing confusion and chaos during an emergency.

What other products or offerings would you like to highlight, and what are some of their unique qualities?

AtlasIED’s GLOBALCOM GCK platform is the heart of a mass communications system, routing and controlling the flow of traffic to and from IPX, GLOBALCOM, and other AtlasIED endpoints. Scalable, customizable, and compatible with a variety of network protocols and alarm systems, GCK offers security integrators a flexible, versatile solution applicable for commercial projects of any size or scope. Through GCK, integrators can combine existing alarm system, paging system, and VoIP phone system capabilities with audio-visual messaging through IPX, GLOBALCOM, and other AtlasIED endpoints, and customize a complete mass communications program that addresses every situation, location, and specific notification requirements of a commercial environment.

As an extra measure of security, GCK includes a priority override feature, which allows authorized on-site or off-site emergency responders to take control of the system and broadcast live announcements dynamically to any AtlasIED endpoint. Emergency responders can securely activate alerts and control the system from within or outside the premises.

AtlasIED offers Singlewire InformaCast software as a complement to its IPX Endpoints that delivers audible and visual alerts to mobile devices both on- and off-premise. Perfect for large industrial and school campuses, highly mobile work environments, and as a communications back-up in places where it’s difficult to hear or see safety announcements via speakers or displays, Singlewire InformaCast ensures that anyone, no matter where they are, receives information concerning lockdowns, evacuations, intruders and other critical events.

AtlasIED’s Atmosphere digital audio platform bridges the gap between systems that distribute music and those that deliver voice or audible notifications, giving security integrators an easy entry point into the hi-fi category. From the same system that delivers pre-recorded announcements to connected speakers, music can also be routed. These two features are particularly useful in commercial settings where music often plays in the background, yet paging, routine, or emergency communications are also important. Through Atmosphere’s built-in intelligence and high-priority override, background music temporarily mutes and the volume level adjusts so that messages can be heard. Atmosphere helps security integrators diversify their product offering, attract new clientele, and grow their businesses.

What else is new or noteworthy about the company for 2021?

AtlasIED is adding features and capabilities to existing platforms like Atmosphere, new products to our best-selling IPX product family, and enhanced partnerships to further support the integrators’ businesses and the industry. By collecting feedback from integrators, dealers, and users, AtlasIED is working to bring relevant, high-quality, performance-focused solutions to market in 2021 and beyond.

What is your company’s overall value proposition to installing security dealers/integrators? Why should they do business with you?

AtlasIED is positioned to help security integrators expand their solutions offerings with products and systems that are profitable (and available!) and complementary to their existing skillset. By reinforcing relationships with some of the biggest security product distributors, adding specialized product and technical training, and expanding our free design services, AtlasIED is ready to support the continued, sustainable growth of the security integration industry.

What do you see as some of the top opportunities in the marketplace right now?

Two of the top opportunities are in 1)unifying paging, audio, and mass communication technologies into a wholistic, daily use system, and 2)product availability.

By unifying daily use and emergency use communication systems, customers are seeing a far greater return on their investment. Once thought of as an “insurance policy,” mass communication and security systems can also be leveraged for daily and routine announcements, paging, intercom, and even background music while still offering the same quality and reliability as dedicated-use mission critical systems.

Additionally, with supply chain concerns increasing, AtlasIED has worked to maintain a sound level of inventory available for integrators and distributors, allowing projects to stay on track.
