Bormioli Pharma Partners with H-ON to Safeguard Employees

Through the implementation of H-ON’s H-DOCS software, the Italian company Bormioli Pharma has been able to better protect its employees through processes that include compliance monitoring and digital documentation.

MILAN, Italy—Bormioli Pharma, a producer of pharmaceutical packaging and medical devices, states that it has always been committed to ensuring a positive impact on society and the environment, not only through the development and adoption of advanced technological solutions, but also through innovative safety projects.

Attentive to the needs and requirements of those who work within its plants, the Company boasts that it takes all the necessary measures for their protection and training, which pass through a shared path of staff and teams’ growth. With over 5,000 projects carried out in the last three years and almost 15,000 hours of training in just 2023, Bormioli Pharma confirms that the safety and protection of its employees are at the heart of the company strategies.

The project developed in collaboration with H-ON, a company of the TÜV Rheinland Group specialized in consulting for the security, reliability and cyber security of industrial machines and plants, goes in this direction and provides for a revamping process aimed at updating existing security systems and introducing new tools and equipment. The program was launched in 2021 and in these first 3 years involved all the Bormioli Pharma plants in Italy.

H-ON Employs H-DOCS Software to Protect Bormioli Pharma Employees

Starting from the mapping of work equipment and the definition of intervention priorities (GAP Analysis) on every single machine or production line, H-ON has developed the risk assessment and defined the technical modifications to be made to proceed with the testing phase. Finally, once achieved the safety objectives, H-ON drew up the user and maintenance manual and issued the CE declaration of conformity, where necessary.

In order to enhance the activity carried out, the subsequent phase of maintaining the conformity and safety of machines and plants is also extremely important. For this reason, Bormioli Pharma has chosen to implement H-DOCS, a software developed by H-ON for compliance monitoring, which provides staff in the department with digitalized documentation that is always updated. Through this tool, it has been possible to simplify the process of digitizing technical documents and compliance, allowing access to operators directly from departments using QR Code affixed on production equipment.

This brings on the one hand a considerable benefit for operators who thus have direct control over the documents, the PPE defined in the safety data sheets of the substances used, the training to be carried out and the procedures for using the machines; but also, an advantage for the company, which in this way can optimize the management time. The implemented system is not only a container of documents, but above all an interactive tool for the company DVR, which allows to dynamically cross-reference existing data with the improvements implemented, including through employee reports.
