ADT Adds Professional Installation of Amazon Echo and Echo Dot

ADT Pulse customers also now have the option to disarm their home security system through Amazon Alexa voice command and a secure PIN.

BOCA RATON, Fla. – ADT is now offering professional installation of the Amazon Echo and Echo Dot voice-control assistants, along with launching an ADT Pulse Alexa skill for new and existing home automation customers.

ADT Pulse subscribers can now have Alexa-enabled devices set up in their home to allow them to ask Alexa to not only arm, but be one of the first in the industry to disarm, their home security system through simple voice commands and a secure PIN.

In addition to using voice control to lock and unlock the door, turn on the lights and more, ADT Pulse customers can also ask Alexa to provide the status of their home security system and automation devices. Once a voice command is given to Alexa, the device will provide feedback to confirm the action has taken place.

Introduced in 2010 as the first mass market security and home automation platform available to consumers, ADT Pulse recently surpassed the 2 million customer milestone, according to the company.

Following their integration with ADT in May 2016, smart home customers of Protection 1 now also have access to the full-suite of feature sets available with Alexa.
