Nortek Security & Control Integrates Home Automation Platform With 2GIG Panel
ELAN is billed as the only whole home automation platform to natively integrate with the 2GIG GC3 security and control panel.

PETALUMA, Calif. — Nortek Security & Control (NSC) announces the integration of the ELAN Entertainment and Control Platform with the 2GIG GC3, the industry’s first Z-Wave Plus-certified security panel.
The GC3 panel can now be controlled natively from within the intuitive ELAN user interface, enabling seamless security control within the connected home experience, according to the announcement. This marks the first full integration between wireless security leader 2GIG and a home control and automation platform.
“The ELAN and 2GIG software and engineering teams worked closely to make a truly seamless security integration possible for custom installers,” NSC Executive Vice President of Marketing and Innovation Joe Roberts says. “In doing so, we have transformed how homeowners can use, access and control their security systems.”
ELAN’s auto zone detection is said to simplify installation. Once the panel has been configured, all zones and zone names will be automatically added to the system. Through the arm-disarm feature, the viewer interface shows current panel security status and provides controls to arm and disarm the GC3 system, while “Auto Arm” enables arming the panel without entering a PIN code.
Event-based arming automates the arming as a system command — such as “away mode” or “good night mode” using the ELAN Event Mapper. The “History View” provides access to the GC3 history page to view zone fault and system status history, “Zone Status” enables viewing the main security page displays of all currently faulted zones, while the “Zone Bypass” feature allows installers to automatically bypass all faulted zones when arming from ELAN.
“This is a key step in expanding opportunities by bringing our security and control platforms together,” Roberts adds “It’s part of our growing portfolio of connected smart home solutions that are easy-to-install for integrators and extremely intuitive for homeowners.”
