Scout Alarm Inks Strategic Partnership With Stanley Black & Decker

Stanley Black & Decker will deploy Scout Alarm’s software and hardware across its own business divisions worldwide, under a new agreement between the companies.

CHICAGO — Scout Alarm (ASX: SCT), a provider of DIY security and smart home technology, has signed a partnership deal with security services provider Stanley Black & Decker (NYSE: SWK) to license and sell Scout’s home security platform.

The partnership grants Stanley Black & Decker (SBD) the right to deploy the Scout software platform and hardware suite across its brands and global security business units.

SBD bills itself as the second largest global provider of security services, managing more than 500,000 buildings around the world. Its business units operating in the security industry provide solutions for residential, commercial, alarm dealer and monitoring center customers.

“We  have  been  impressed  with  the  technology  and  team  at  Scout  and  believe  that  a  strong  partnership  with  Scout  can  help  us  grow  our  position  as  a  global  provider  of  security  services,” states SBD President of Convergent Security Solutions Joe McCormack.

Scout Alarm, based in New South Wales, Australia, has spent the past few years targeting opportunities and developing a robust product set that complements SBD’s various business units, according to an announcement.

The two companies share an alignment of vision on the future of security and have identified both short- and long-term potential applications of the Scout platform to augment SBD’s existing and planned customer solutions, says Scout Alarm Co-founder and CEO Dan Roberts.

“This is an incredible partnership and opportunity.  We  have  the  chance  to  work  on  the  future  of  security  platforms  with  one  of  the  global  leaders  in  the  space. You can’t ask for much more than that,” says Roberts. “Our teams have spent a fair amount of time together at this point and both companies share a common vision for where the security space is headed.”
