Vivint to Offer Smart Home Tech to Property Owners With No Upfront Cost

The new program is the first zero-down financing option for a comprehensive multifamily smart home solution, Vivint says.

PROVO, Utah — Vivint has unveiled a new program to offer zero-down financing to help property owners and managers add smart home technology to multifamily properties with no upfront cost.

This is the first zero-down financing option for a comprehensive multifamily smart home solution, making it easier than ever to add smart home to both new and existing properties, according to an announcement.

Vivint offers a comprehensive suite of smart home products designed for rental and multifamily properties. Smart home technology provides significant value to properties, as well as practical benefits for both residents and management teams, the company states.

“Our zero-down financing increases access to smart home technology and levels the playing field for the multifamily community,” says Tom Few, senior vice president of business development at Vivint Smart Home. “Nearly any property owner or manager can now afford smart home, whether for a new build or to retrofit existing units.”

In the announcement, the company cites an increasing number of U.S. households are headed by renters, including 65% percent of millennials.

As this digital generation floods the multifamily market, owners and managers must look for ways to appeal to more tech-savvy renters. At the same time, they need tools to improve efficiency in the face of rising costs.

With smart home products from Vivint, the company says property managers can offer a new level of convenience and security for their residents. From a single Vivint Smart Home app, residents can control lights, locks and temperature; arm and disarm their security system; and view live video and recorded clips from anywhere.

In addition to offering increased security and convenience, property managers can use Vivint to improve operational efficiency, the company states. For example, using Vivint Site Manager, an interactive dashboard, property managers can onboard new residents, fulfill service requests and manage vacant units from anywhere.

The company also provides both property managers and residents with 24/7 customer care and onsite support.
