Foundation for Advancing Security Talent will honor, excellence, customer service and leadership at ISC East in November.
DALLAS—The Foundation for Advancing Security Talent (FAST) is seeking nominations for its inaugural FAST Security Technician of the Year Awards, an initiative recognizing security technicians “who have demonstrated excellence, premier customer service and leadership within their organizations.
This year’s honorees will be recognized Nov. 15 at ISC East in New York.
“Security technicians are a vital part of the security industry, helping to design, install and maintain critical technologies and systems in our communities every day,” according to the FAST press release announcing the opening of nominations. “Their efforts to install and service security systems are foundational to the safety of the places in which we work and live and to our nation’s homeland security.”
Inside the Security Technician of the Year Awards
FAST is launching the Security Technician of the Year Awards program to “honor the noteworthy achievements, dedication and leadership of security technicians,” according to the foundation’s announcement.
“We are thrilled to introduce our new Security Technician of the Year Awards to recognize the folks in the field who keep our industry sound and functioning,” said FAST Board of Directors Chair Kerri Sutherland in the announcement. “We would not be the strong industry we are today without their hard work and dedication.”
FAST Security Technician of the Year Awards nominations are open to members of the Security Industry Association (SIA) and the Electronic Security Association (ESA). Each nominee must have at least one year of professional experience in the security industry.
Nominees will be evaluated on criteria including their tenure of service to the security industry, significant projects and events, character and culture, customer service and broader impact to their company industry and/or community.
