This year’s recipients are George Fletcher, president of DMF Consulting, and ADT.

MIAMI — Mission 500, a charitable non-profit organization engaging security professionals to assist families in crisis across the United States, has announced the winners of its annual Humanitarian and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) awards.

This year’s recipients are George Fletcher, president of DMF Consulting and ADT, respectively.

“Every year Mission 500 recognizes an individual and corporate entity for its outstanding contributions towards the betterment of society and mankind,” states Ken Gould, chairman of the board, Mission 500. “The efforts of this year’s award recipients, George Fletcher and ADT, have touched the lives of so many people not only over the course of 2019, but for many years prior, and we extend our sincerest gratitude, appreciation and respect for their outstanding achievements.”

Following are details for each award winner.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Award

With a dedicated week of service and many events throughout the course of the year, including Seasons of Service events around the holidays, ADT provides numerous opportunities for its employees to participate in community service.

During the 2019 Week of Service, thousands of ADT employees and their families donated over 22,000 volunteer hours, impacting nearly 200 communities nationwide. In 2019, the company presented LifeSaver awards to 46 ADT employees who helped rescue customers from near-death experiences involving fires, carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning and other emergencies in the home.

ADT also awarded $105,000 in grants in 2019 to more than a dozen police and fire departments that were involved in these events.

At the company’s corporate headquarters in Boca Raton, Fla., employees assembled 1,000 Care Kits for veterans and donated over 15,000 pounds of food as part of a food drive in November. Also in 2019, ADT contributed $40,000 to the National Volunteer Fire Council and several volunteer departments to raise awareness and recruit more volunteer firefighters across America.

“Congratulations to the entire ADT family for their outstanding efforts and achievements by helping to improve the lives of so many and instilling hope for the future,” Gould says.

Past winners of the CSR Award include: Altronix, NorthStar Home, Alliance Security, Fluent Home, Protection 1, Pelco by Schneider Electric, Vivint and Convergint Technologies and Brinks Home Security.

Humanitarian Award

George Fletcher conceived the creation of Mission 500 over 10 years ago with the goal of sponsoring 500 children through the World Vision charity. Since its humble inception, Mission 500 continued to gain traction as the professional security industry’s charity of choice and became an official 501c3 charity in 2016.

Over the years, Mission 500 has provided 40,000 meals to families in need, assembled and distributed care packs filled with essential hygiene items for 3,700 families, and distributed more than 11,500 book bags filled with school supplies for children attending Title One schools. Throughout this entire journey, Fletcher has been the guiding force behind Mission 500 and a model leader for all involved in Mission 500 and the entire security industry.

“Without George’s vision, drive and unwavering enthusiasm, Mission 500 would not exist and have thrived over the years, and we are forever indebted to him,” Gould comments.

Past winners of the Humanitarian Award include The Hurricane Harvey Heroes (Curtis Kindred, Harley Schild, Todd Fitch), Jay Gotra, Sean Sportun, Anne Glickstein, Charles “Dom” D’Ascoli, Alan Forman, Mary Jensby, Barb Holliday, Michael Keegan and Dave Foglio.
