2025 Security Industry Predictions: Vinny Peone, Eastern and Intelli-Tec Security Services
Vinny Peone of Eastern Security Services and Intelli-Tec Security Services shares his security industry predictions for 2025 and beyond.
Our latest entrant in the 2025 Security Industry Predictions series is Vinny Peone, director of marketing for Eastern Security Services and Intelli-Tec Security Services.
Security Sales & Integration: Without getting into any specific vendors or branded solutions, what technology category or solution area do you see as 2025’s ripest, most profitable growth opportunity for security dealers, installers and integrators? Explain your reasoning.
Vinny Peone: I believe monitored video solutions will be the most profitable growth opportunity for dealers and integrators in the coming years. Demand for these solutions is surging, driving significant advances in both hardware and software, such as artificial intelligence-driven analytics for real-time threat detection and enhanced video resolution.
Paired with a reliable central station that offers immediate response capabilities, these systems deliver proactive security by not only deterring crime but also providing actionable insights. As businesses and homeowners seek more advanced, scalable solutions, the integration of cloud storage, edge computing, and AI analytics makes monitored video solutions more efficient and accessible.
This combination is positioning monitored video as a key player in the security industry’s immediate and future growth.
SSI: These days, we’re all hearing a lot about the cloud migration, AI/machine learning, crime deterrence vs. crime reactiveness, etc. Which of these “hot topics” do you think is overplayed? Which ones do you think will truly transform the practice of security integration in the coming years?
Vinny Peone: I believe cloud as a one-size-fits-all solution is overplayed. As with anything, every facility and end user has unique needs, budgets, and regulations— cloud is simply not the answer for everyone.
I do believe, however, that while overhyped in some areas, AI’s role in predictive crime prevention, anomaly detection, and real-time analytics will continue to rapidly grow, particularly for large-scale deployments like smart cities or critical infrastructure.
SSI: On the business and operations side, which single factor (e.g., interest rates, talent-related issues, geopolitical stressors) poses the biggest challenge for the security industry right now? How can business owners mitigate their downside risk?
Vinny Peone: The biggest challenge currently facing security businesses is the difficulty in finding and retaining top talent. With the growing demand for advanced security solutions, businesses are struggling to fill key roles, especially in areas like service and installations.
To mitigate this, security companies must offer competitive pay and benefits, as well as foster a positive, growth-oriented culture. At both Eastern and Intelli-Tec Security Services, we prioritize attracting and retaining top talent by offering excellent pay, comprehensive benefits, and a supportive company culture.
We also provide extensive opportunities for training and career advancement, which helps our team stay engaged and develop their skills while ensuring long-term retention in a competitive job market.
SSI: What’s the single most pressing issue that professionals in the security industry should look to tackle right now?
Vinny Peone: The most pressing issue professionals in the security industry should tackle right now is combatting false alarms. False alarms not only waste valuable time and resources but also erode trust with both clients and emergency responders.
A significant portion of alarms are false, often leading to fines, reputational damage, and a strained relationship with local law enforcement. To address this, security dealers and integrators NEED to focus on improving alarm accuracy through better training, advanced technology, and more effective communication with monitoring stations.
Implementing solutions like video verification can significantly reduce false alarms and improve response times, benefiting both security companies and their clients.
SSI: Finish this sentence: 2025 will be remembered as the year that the security industry…
Vinny Peone: … embraced AI-powered analytics and video surveillance, revolutionizing real-time threat detection and predictive crime prevention.
As security dealers and integrators increasingly integrate advanced technologies like machine learning and hybrid or cloud solutions, the focus will shift towards more proactive security measures, with AI-driven systems reducing response times and improving accuracy.
This convergence of cutting-edge technology will set the stage for smarter, more efficient security solutions across both residential and commercial sectors.
