Acadian Knows Every Minute Matters in Security Industry

Being part of an ambulance service, 2018 Installer of the Year runner-up Acadian Total Security knows the importance of arriving in a timely fashion.

For Acadian Total Security (ATS), saying the company’s work in the security industry helps save lives is more than just lip service.

It’s a commitment guided by President and CEO Blane Comeaux, who started his career as a paramedic for parent Acadian Ambulance Service, which is the largest employee-owned ambulance service in the world, according to the Lafayette, La.-based firm.

Since evolving into a full-service commercial and residential security company in 2014, ATS has become a fixture in the Southeast, now serving over 33,000 customers with RMR of $930,000 and an annual growth rate of 7.3% in 2017.

“Because we are part of the ambulance service, we know the importance of arriving in minutes to save lives. We focus on that same promptness for our security division — our customers are scheduled within a 30-minute window appointment time and our technicians arrive 97% on time,” notes Division Coordinator Michelle Trahan. “We are repeatedly told by customers that this is very important to them, that we value their time.”

The company follows up its installation services with 24/7 customer support, says Trahan, and gives customers multiple ways to evaluate ATS’ performance.

ATS boasts a unit-hour utilization of over 90% for technician time, she says.“It’s refreshing to read the comments from online and mailed surveys,” Trahan says. “We’ve learned that nearly all customer issues are simple miscommunications that can be corrected with a personal visit from management.”
