Company News From Optelecom, Tri-Ed, Magal-Stellar, ISC East
Optelecom Changes Corporate Identity
As a result of a recent acquisition, video surveillance manufacturer Optelecom Inc. is changing its corporate name to Optelecom-NKF Inc. Optelecom says the move has been made to align its two strongest brands: Optelecom and NKF Electronics.
Optelecom acquired the European network video supplier NKF in late March.
Tri-Ed Opens New Distribution Offices
Tri-Ed Distribution — a security, fire and low-voltage product provider — has opened two new locations in Buffalo, N.Y., and New Orleans. The locations to serve dealers and integrators opened up in early April.
Tri-Ed is enjoying a newly independent status after the distributor was sold by Tyco in January to a group of investors and is being led by former ADI President and SSI Hall-of-Famer Steve Roth.
Senstar-Stellar, Perimeter Products Inc. Merging Into One Company Another name in security products looks to be no more, as a consolidation appears to end the Senstar-Stellar name. Magal Security Systems Ltd. of Yahud, Israel, is merging its two U.S. subsidiaries — Senstar-Stellar Inc. and Perimeter Products Inc. — into one company to be called Magal-Senstar Inc.
Both Senstar-Stellar and Perimeter Products manufacture perimeter access control products, though Perimeter also produces a video intrusion system.
