Arizona Alarm Firm Gets Top Certification From CSAA
The Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) has awarded a Five Diamond Certification to Scottsdale, Ariz., alarm company Safeguard Security and Communications. Safeguard is one of the less than 100 central stations in the country to receive the five-diamond rating from CSAA.
According to CSAA, a station that receives a Five Diamond Certification must show proficiency in the following areas: alarm verification, emergency preparedness, working with public services such as 911 and detailed knowledge of electronic communications equipment.

Devcon Sells Off Construction Company to Focus More on Security
The construction-materials company that recently entered the security business by acquiring Adelphia’s electronic security services division is putting more funds into its electronic security division by selling off one of its construction materials units.
Devcon Int’l, which acquired the Adelphia security unit in March, has discarded its U.S. Virgin Islands unit that sold cement and other construction supplies to a local investment group for $13.3 million. Devcon says it funneled all the money into its security division, and hinted it plans to expand its security operations in the near future.

Brink’s Secures Back-to-Back Honor From J.D. Power
For the second straight year, J.D. Power and Associates has recognized Brink’s Home Security’s call center for excellence.
To be recognized in J.D. Power’s Certified Call Center Program, the Brink’s call centers had to pass a detailed audit that included its recruiting, training and quality assurance capabilities.

GE Security Joins Powerline Networking Consortium
HomePlug Powerline Alliance Inc., a global industry consortium that creates international specifications for high-speed powerline networking products and services, announced that GE’s Security business has joined its Implementers’ Forum Board of Directors.
According to the alliance, the addition of GE Infrastructure, Security to its board emphasizes the important role of HomePlug technology in the rapidly growing digital home market.
