Custom Alarm’s Redesigned Web Site Brings Considerable Jump in Traffic, Leads: SAMMYs 2016

The Rochester, Minn.-based company took home the SAMMY for the Best Web Site Design.

Adding a SAMMY Award for Best Web Site Design is surely a prideful cherry on top. Custom Alarm’s recent complete Web site overhaul resulted in highly interactive, fully responsive features, such as the ability for prospective customers to compare security system packages. The feature includes an integrated widget that allows the company to direct the user to a package that will best fit their needs.

“We also give the user an option to request a quote online for a free security analysis, and they can also live chat with one of our very own knowledgeable employees, with a simple click of a button,” Rossi says.

The Web site also gives users access to a rich assortment of content to learn more about the Rochester, Minn.-based company and its staffers. There are false alarm reductions tips; information about the company’s monitoring center and service department; details about the Custom Cares program and a community development request form; a career opportunities page and more.

Special focus was built in to enrich the user experience for current customers. An insurance discount form is now available, which can be submitted to insurance agents. A customer resource section includes how-to videos and answers to frequently asked questions. In addition, a My Account tab was added to provide links to related subcategories. Here, customers can login to their Total Connect and accounts, view and edit their monitoring information, view account invoices, make payments and create new service tickets. Customers can also provide referrals and receive a $100 credit or take an online survey and be entered into a monthly drawing for a $50 gift card.

The redesigned site has helped the company achieve its highest online traffic ever, as well as drive increased brand awareness, Rossi says.

“Since our launch in mid-February of to the end of July [2015], we doubled our traffic to our residential page and well over tripled our visits to the commercial page over 2014’s numbers,” she says. “We also had about 80 leads come from our Web site in that same time period, and those numbers do not include the direct sales we have had from our live chat.”
