Distributor Gets Into Alarm Screen Manufacturing
METAIRIE, La. — Bob Gates and Steve Aswad, longtime players in the alarm distribution industry, are trying their hand at manufacturing. Their Optimum Security and Data Distribution LLC, founded just last year, has expanded with the purchase of security-screen maker American Alarm Screens.
Gates and Aswad, whose company is based in Metairie, La., have a combined 33 years of experience in security distribution and Gates says the acquisition will help their distribution operations. “We wanted to create one place where a security installation professional could quickly find the products they need to provide security for the homeowner.
The acquisition of American Alarm Screens was an extension of this philosophy,” Gates says. “We are on a constant lookout for new and better methods of security detection that a professional installation company can provide to the homeowner.”
American Alarm Screens has been a manufacturer of security screens since 1977. Each screen requires professional installation.
