Indiana Alarm is a family-run business that treats both its customers and employees as one of their own. “Indiana Alarm’s mission is to ‘protect what you value most.’ At Indiana Alarm, our customers are our family. It’s our mission to ensure that we meet our customer’s security needs in every way possible,” says Owner Josh Bell.
Indiana Alarm keeps its customers happy by remaining transparent and offering friendly, helpful customer service. Due to demand, the company offers no long-term contracts, giving customers the ability to opt for a month-to-month agreement.
“We customize each and every quote for our customers. We don’t want to rush or use high pressure sales techniques on any clients. We typically meet onsite with our customers to assess their security needs. From that meeting, we can completely customize a system that will meet their needs. We create the quotes at the office so there is no high pressure sales pitch. Our customers can decide if they want to move forward or make any changes in stress-free manner,” says Bell.
The company incorporates home automation into security systems after finding that customer retention is higher if features such as lighting control, door locks and camera integration are included in their system.
Whether a field technician or an office employee, current and reoccurring training is provided for all employees. The company also pays for any training in an area that its employees show an interest or desire to learn more about.
“For example, we currently have two employees that wanted more fire training so they are currently working though the NICET training program that we have provided for them,” Bell says.
Company outings and monthly incentives for upsells, customer-accepted quotes and any reviews also keep employees engaged and striving for company growth.
As a small, local security company, Indiana Alarm needs to get creative in order to get its name out in the community. The company utilizes TV campaigns and Google AdWords to spread its message.
It reviews the performance of its TV commercials with a representative from the TV station to analyze viewing data for the time slots the commercials air, and then compares it against the calls that came in from people viewing those commercials.
