Guardian Protection Employees Raise Money for Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh
The Guardian Protection staffers exceeded their $5,000 goal through company events like jeans day, a 50/50 raffle and a donut, pizza and cupcake sale.
PITTSBURGH — Guardian Protection employees recently participated in a charity initiative to raise funds for Children’s Hospital Free Care Fund which provides care to every child, regardless of their family’s ability to pay.
Their goal was to raise $5,000 over four weeks during the first quarter of 2020 through company events like jeans day, a 50/50 raffle and a donut, pizza and cupcake sale. Despite a shortened fundraising period due to the COVID-19 outbreak, they exceeded their goal and raised a total of $5,647 which included a corporate match of $2,500.
“The employees of Guardian are kind and compassionate people who are deeply committed to giving back to the communities they serve,” comments Kevin Bish, vice president of marketing. “When they set a goal, nothing can stop them — not even a pandemic. The entire leadership team is proud of their efforts to support Children’s Hospital Free Care Fund here in Pittsburgh.”
This is the second year that Guardian Protection supported Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh through an employee fundraiser. In 2019, the Care and Monitoring Operation (CAMO) spearheaded the initiative, raising over $4000. In 2020, Guardian corporate supported the fundraiser across the corporate and Pittsburgh office locations.
Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, a hospital of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, is the only hospital in Southwestern Pennsylvania dedicated solely to the care of infants, children, teens and young adults well into their 20s and beyond, generally stopping around age 26.
