CEDIA Expo Forms Task Force to Nail Down Safety Protocols at Event Venue
The CEDIA Expo team is working with local officials in Denver to ensure the safety of the trade event’s attendees this fall.
ATLANTA — Addressing the tough times the custom installation industry and the world have been facing, CEDIA Expo has issued an update to help industry members adapt to doing business during the uncertainty of the novel coronavirus crisis. The event remains scheduled to be held Sept. 8-12 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.
Emerald is owner of CEDIA Expo as well as SSI. In the update from Emerald Executive Vice President Brian Pagel, he acknowledges how powerful the personal connections and the exchanging ideas are for propelling this industry forward. But even more importantly, he emphasizes, is that the health and safety of the CEDIA Expo attendees, exhibitors and staff remain the highest priority.
CEDIA Expo wants to ensure the industry that it is following all the guidelines set forth by the CDC, state and local officials as government leaders begin to look forward.
Moreover, CEDIA Expo is actively working with the Colorado Convention Center and has formed a task force to address a new onsite preparedness plan.
Here are some of the things the team is looking to implement in September:
- Enhanced cleaning measures and increased frequency at the convention center.
- Sanitation stations across the venue (hand washing and hand sanitizer).
- Ways to reduce crowding and keep social distancing in lobbies, classrooms and on the show floor.
In addition to onsite measures team members will be launching a virtual component for the show (which will run concurrently with the live event) to accommodate those who may be restricted from attending the show this year.
“CEDIA Expo is where our community converges to discover leading innovation, world-class education and the ideas and inspiration that fuel our businesses year to year. We are hopeful CEDIA Expo will be a launch pad to re-energize the channel for the future. However, nothing is more important to us than the livelihood and well-being of our industry. Stay tuned for a detailed health and safety onsite preparedness plan in early June,” says Pagel.
