Alarm Detection Systems Acquires Illini Security Systems

Illini Security, owned and operated by Gene and Margaret Deisz since 1984, serves residential and business customers in Northern Illinois.

AURORA, Ill. — Alarm Detection Systems (ADS), one of the largest alarm companies in the Midwest, has acquired Illini Security Systems of Sycamore, Ill., for undisclosed terms.

Since 1984, Illini Security has been serving customers in Northern Illinois with the personal touch both homeowners and businesses deserve, according to an announcement. The owners of Illini, Gene and Margaret Deisz, decided that after 37 years it was time to move on and sell to a larger, trusted alarm company already in their market.

“We are pleased our customers will be taken care of as they have been accustomed to. ADS has been ably serving our market for many years. They have that Midwest mentality so important to our customers,” comments Gene Deisz.

Bob Lubic, vice president of ADS, explains, “The Illini purchase represents the type of company we love — old line, well run with a host of top-notch customers. We are fortunate that Davis Mergers & Acquisitions Group [DMAG, aka The Graybeards], who represented Illini, brought them to us. Gene and Margaret are great people.”

ADS, a family-run business, was founded by President and SSI Industry Hall of Famer Robert Bonifas in 1968. The company, which operates its own TMA Five Diamond-certified central monitoring station and fields more than 100 trained and certified technicians, offers a full complement of commercial and residential security and fire/life-safety systems, solutions and services.

ADS has more than 35,000 accounts throughout Northern Illinois, Southern Wisconsin and Northwest Indiana.
