Vinson Guard Service has provided manned guarding services since 1963 and is one of the largest family-run providers in the U.S.

SANTA ANA, Calif. — Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services company in North America, has acquired Vinson Guard Service of New Orleans for undisclosed terms.

Vinson Guard Service is a provider of uniformed security guard services, concierge services and patrol services throughout the Gulf Coast and Southeastern United States.

“We cannot be more pleased with this acquisition as Vinson Guard Service’s well-established platform, highly skilled security professionals and a proven track record of providing superior security solutions will ideally complement and enhance our business moving forward,” states Steve Jones, CEO of Allied Universal.

Established in 1963, Vinson Guard Service has been providing security solutions to clients and is seen as one of the largest family-run security guard providers in the U.S., according to an announcement.

A former security officer, Joseph Vinson, Sr., started Vinson Guard Service more than 55 years ago with the vision of offering high-quality security services with a focus on top-notch client satisfaction, the announcement states. With revenues in excess of $24 million and more than 750 employees, the company provides services in the following states: Alabama, Texas, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee and Louisiana.

“I am extremely impressed with Allied Universal’s breadth of services and capabilities which is definitely a win for our clients,” says Christine Vinson, president and chairwoman of the board at Vinson Guard Service. “We are also excited for the opportunities this allows for our employees as it relates to their professional advancements and security careers.”

Allied Universal staffs more than 215,000 employees and reports revenues over $7.3 billion. The company has offices located throughout the United States and internationally (Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, Honduras and Nicaragua). The company’s end customers cover multiple specialty sectors such as higher education, healthcare, retail, commercial real estate, government and corporate campuses.

Allied Universal was the focus of a major feature article in SSI’s September issue.
