American Direct Acquires Structured Cabling Specialist Avalon

American Direct operates a legacy contract hardware distribution business and a sizable low-voltage systems integration division.

LENEXA, Kan. — American Direct, based here, recently acquired Avalon Communication Services, a structured cabling specialist, for undisclosed terms.

Based in Sheridan, Colo., Avalon designs and installs highly intelligent structured cabling systems, equipped to support an array of applications including voice, data, video, A/V and wireless systems.

With the acquisition, American Direct bills itself “as the only platform company that boasts a legacy contract hardware distribution business, a sizable low-voltage systems integration business, and has major integration infrastructure hubs in Kansas City, Houston, Denver and Phoenix.” The company has more than 25 years of experience working in new construction, renovation and remodel projects for both private and public sector.

Since acquiring the electronic access software platform AccessNsite in 2016, American Direct has pioneered a direct to the market hybrid channel as a technology forward security company, according to an announcement.

With Avalon under its umbrella, the company says it can now provide low-voltage solutions for mission critical data centers, retail space, commercial office space, K-12 schools, higher education and healthcare.

Because American Direct is also a contract hardware distributor, and is an EAC platform owner, all of these technology solutions integrate directly with the company’s existing products, making for a unified service that covers all current and emerging security needs for end users, the announcement states.
