ASSA ABLOY Acquires Door Manufacturers Pioneer Industries, Concept Frames
ASSA ABLOY says the companies are complementary additions as they reinforce its strong position in the doors and frames category in North America.
NEW HAVEN, Conn. —ASSA ABLOY announces it has signed an agreement to acquire Pioneer Industries, a manufacturer of steel doors and frames for commercial applications in the U.S.
ASSA ABLOY says Pioneer is a complementary addition to the company as it reinforces its strong position in the doors and frames category in North America.
Pioneer, an SDI (Steel Door Institute) certified manufacturer, is said to meet the manufacturing, performance and quality standards for doors and frames expected by design professionals and building owners alike.
“The addition of Pioneer allows us to fortify our steel door and frame offering in the US and in particular the Atlantic region,” says Lucas Boselli, executive vice president of ASSA ABLOY and head of the Americas division.
Pioneer will continue to be led by its management team, with support from its employees and distribution channel partners, according to Kent Winter, president, Door Group, ASSA ABLOY Americas.
Pioneer was founded in 1930 and has approximately 100 employees. The head office and factory are located in Carlstadt, N.J.

The acquisition is conditional upon satisfaction of customary closing conditions and is expected to close during the second quarter of 2018.
ASSA ABLOY Acquires Concept Frames
ASSA ABLOY also signed an agreement to acquire Concept Frames, a manufacturer of custom-made steel doors and frames for commercial and industrial door and window applications.
“I am very pleased to welcome Concept Frames into the ASSA ABLOY Group,” says Boselli. “Concept Frame is a complementary addition to ASSA ABLOY and adds to our leadership in the door and frame category in North America.”
Boselli also says Concept Frames has an excellent reputation for customer service, project specifications and quick delivery primarily covering the southeast region of the U.S.
Founded in 1982, Concept Frames has approximately 68 employees. The head office and factory are located in Newton, N.C.
