AVDG Builds East Coast Presence With Maverick Integration Buy

The acquisition will allow AVDG to continue to expand its reach in both the residential and commercial A/V markets in the East Coast.

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Audio Visual Design Group (AVDG), based here, has acquired Maverick Integration Corp., a leading design and system integration firm specializing in a full range of technology solutions for the residential and commercial market sectors.

The acquisition underscores AVDG’s ongoing commitment to growth and expansion with acquisitions of leading system integration firms, according to Doug Carnell, vice president of business solutions at AVDG’s parent company Guitar Center.

With the addition of Nashua, N.H.-based Maverick Integration, AVDG adds to its system design and integration services to residential and commercial clients on the East Coast.

Founded in 2003 by owner Dennis Jaques, Maverick Integration also operate an office in Waltham, Mass., and satellite operations in Naples, Fla. The company’s work includes whole-house distributed audio, home theater, conferencing & boardrooms, media rooms, lighting control, motorized shades & drapery, flat panel & projection TVs, video content and home automation.

Maverick ranked No. 12 on SSI sister publication’s 2019 CE Pro 100 list, with $14.4 million in revenue in 2018 and 50 full-time employees.

Under the new structure, Jaques will become the director of residential operations and will continue to lead and develop AVDG’s integration team along with supporting the further growth of nationally, according to an announcement.

“Dennis is a key influencer and visionary in the residential space and a welcome addition to the AVDG organization,” says Carnell.

Jaques states, “Throughout my career, I have constantly strived to evolve with each of the companies I have worked with, and I thought AVDG gave me the next logical challenge to grow beyond what I have already done. I am very glad to be part of AVDG and looking forward to contributing to its long-term growth and expansion nationwide.”

AVDG and Guitar Center continue to expand the portfolio of companies with strategic acquisitions. In January 2019, they acquired another CE Pro 100 company, Chicago-based Tunnel Vision Technology.
