Bay Alarm Expands Reach Into Pacific Northwest With Acquisition

The acquired company, Evergreen Security, is a full-service provider of security and fire/life-safety solutions in the Puget Sound area.

CONCORD, Calif. — Bay Alarm, based here, has acquired Evergreen Security of Everett, Wash., one of the largest security companies in the Puget Sound area. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Evergreen Security has been family owned and operated since 1978, serving more than 2,300 home and business customers, according to an announcement. Evergreen’s leadership team included William Murray, president and CEO, and Linda Murray, vice president and CFO. The Murrays announced their retirement from the company in a letter sent to their customers, which was posted online as well.

“Thank you for entrusting us with your security for so many years. As we move forward, we have every
confidence that we are leaving you in good hands,” they stated in the letter.

“We are excited to welcome the employees and customers of Evergreen Security into the Bay Alarm family, and at the same time expand the local employee base,” says Matt Westphal, co-president, Bay Alarm. “Like Evergreen, we’ve built our reputation on a dedication to customer service, technical expertise and exceeding our customers’ expectations.”

Founded in 1946 in Oakland, Calif., Bay Alarm is now in its third generation of family leadership. The company has grown to be the largest independently owned and operated alarm company in the United States with 16 branch locations, serving approximately 150,000 residential and commercial customers. It also operates a UL-listed , TMA Five Diamond-certified central station.

“Our employees live in the neighborhoods we serve. Bay Alarm was founded on the principles of protecting and giving back to the community. We will continue that tradition as we grow roots in the Puget Sound,” says Graham Westphal, co-president.
