Bold Perennial Acquires Security Information & Management Systems

The acquisition and integration will provide Bold Perennial a broader reach into the market, as well as seasoned industry resources and expertise.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Bold Perennial has acquired central station software company Security Information & Management Systems (SIMS). Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

With the acquisition, SIMS will integrate with the Bold Perennial organization and its product lines, according to an announcement.

Plano, Texas-based SIMS has provided software solutions for the alarm and security industry for more than 35 years. The privately-held company has developed numerous applications to help central stations such as Telelogik, Vapor Paper, SIMSWeb, SIMS for Windows, ComServer, iServer and the SIMS III automation software platform.

The acquisition and integration will provide Bold Perennial a broader reach into the market, as well as seasoned industry resources and expertise, the announcement states.

“We are excited about the opportunities this new venture provides, and are honored to be a part of the industry-leading Bold Perennial organization,” says SIMS Founder Ken Utley.

Utley will remain as a consultant to the organization during a transition process. No other management changes are expected to occur in the immediate future, and the SIMS staff will remain in place in the Plano offices.

By combining both companies’ knowledge and resources from years of success in the industry, the acquisition of SIMS signifies continued growth and innovation, in addition to expanded products and services for SIMS’ and Bold Perennial’s respective customers, the announcement states.

“We are very pleased to bring SIMS and their product portfolio into the Bold Perennial family. We believe SIMS alarm monitoring software complements our current product lines and plan to continue support and sales of the product,” says Rod Coles, president of Bold Perennial. “We recognize the trust and value the SIMS team built with their customers and will work hard to continue earning that trust as we embark on this new journey.”
