CertaSite Expands Into Wisconsin With Starfire Buys

CertaSite, a portfolio company of Riverside Co., has acquired multiple fire protection and life-safety companies since being established in 2018.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — CertaSite, based here, announces the acquisition of Starfire Systems and Starfire Extinguisher of Franklin, Wis.

The acquisitions, terms of which were not disclosed, mark CertaSite’s first expansion into Wisconsin.

The family-owned Starfire companies provide a wide range of fire protection products and services, including suppression systems for critical facilities and kitchen hoods, fire extinguishers, alarms, pumps, electrical contracting, according to the Starfire website.

“CertaSite is a company that we trust because they share our values and code of ethics for saving lives and protecting property,” says Starfire proprietors Sue and Darrel Malek in the announcement. “We are proud of the customer service that our team provided for more than 30 years. We fully believe that under CertaSite, our customers will continue to experience excellent customer service and will benefit from administration advancements like online customer portals, inspection management and reporting, expanded service areas, life safety maintenance programs and multi-location support with a certified expanded life safety technician workforce.”

More than 20 employees will CertaSite at the close of the acquisition. Sue Malek will remain on the team as a key accounts manager, while Darrel Malek will provide consulting services during the transition to the CertaSite brand, which is expected to be completed in the coming months.
