Convergint Acquires Integrated Security Systems Division of SDI Presence
The ever-acquisitive Convergint Technologies says a key trait shared between it and ISSD is uncompromising customer service.
Convergint Technologies purchased the Integrated Security Systems division (ISSD) of SDI Presence for undisclosed terms.
SCHAUMBURG, Ill. — Convergint Technologies, based here, has acquired the Charleston, S.C.-based Integrated Security Systems division (ISSD) of SDI Presence for undisclosed terms.
ISSD brings Convergint expertise across the banking, education, as well as state and local government markets, according to a news release. All 50 members of the current ISSD team will join Convergint, including Todd Smith, vice president and general manager, and Sean Kennedy, general manager of financial/banking security services.
Many of the existing employees will work from the Charleston location, with the balance supporting several national accounts across the United States.
“The company cultures of SDI and Convergint are closely aligned, which will provide the ISSD team with a smooth transition to many opportunities for advancement within Convergint’s growing security portfolio and services platform,” says David Gupta, CEO of SDI Presence, the former parent company of ISSD. “This transaction also serves to strategically reinforce SDI’s professional services focus on our core IT domain expertise and emerging digital solution areas for our clients.”

Founded in 2001, Convergint bills itself as the second largest security systems integrator in the world. Central to its success is the culture established by its Values & Beliefs, of which customer service is the core focus, the company states.
ISSD shares in this service commitment, according to the announcement, and marks the twelfth acquisition Convergint has completed in the past two years.
