KPI Holdings Acquires Communications Systems in Tri-State Area

The newly formed business Communication Systems Integrators (CSi), will join the KPI portfolio of life-safety systems businesses.

NORTH WALES, Pa. — KPI Holdings, based here, announces it has purchased the assets of Communication Systems, a Lehigh Valley, Pa.-based security, fire and communication systems integrator.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The newly formed business Communication Systems Integrators (CSi), will join the KPI portfolio of life-safety systems businesses. Headquartered in Allentown, Pa., CSi will extend KPI’s mission of life safety and property protection, according to the announcement.

“The addition of CSi to our other businesses perfectly aligns with KPI’s mission. The high-end security integration and communication technologies are a strong complement to our core fire protection business,” states John M. Lawlor, president and CEO of KPI Holdings.

“We’re also very pleased that all but one of the 37 staff members agreed to come over to the new company,” Lawlor adds. “In this hyper-competitive employment market, retaining seasoned employees is critical to the success of a deal like this.”

For more than 40 years Communication Systems has provided security and communications systems for businesses, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, government, among other vertical markets. Staffed with a team of seasoned professionals, the newly formed CSi will assist its clients to identify the right security solution for their businesses, and they provide an unsurpassed customer service experience long after the sale, the announcement states.

CSi joins two other companies under its parent, KPI: Keystone Fire Protection Co. and Marco Protection Systems. Both Keystone and Marco are regional leaders in fire protection and life-safety solutions, serving a wide range of customers in eastern Pennsylvania, as well as parts of New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland.

KPI Holdings acquired certain assets of Marco, a Chester County, Pa.-based fire sprinkler contracting company in 2016, to form Marco Protection Systems. Keystone Fire Protection Co. is headquartered in North Wales, Pa., and serves the Tri-state area.
