Lone Star Communications Acquires ArCom Systems

Lone Star expands its regional footprint into Arkansas and Louisiana where ArCom supports 152 hospitals with life-safety equipment and services.

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas — Lone Star Communications, a Texas-based leader in the life-safety industry, has expanded its service footprint to Arkansas and Louisiana with the acquisition of ArCom Systems.

ArCom Systems is a leading provider of fire/life-safety low-voltage equipment in the Arkansas and Louisiana commercial, education and healthcare markets, according to an announcement. The company was founded in 1975 by David Watson II installing fire alarm and nurse call systems in long-term healthcare and assisted living facilities throughout the south central and southeastern portion of the United States.

In 2000, President David Watson III took over ArCom operations and initiated commitments with the best of breed product lines available in the U.S. for IP video surveillance, access control, nurse call and fire alarms. ArCom became a Rauland distributor in 2000, which expanded its focus into acute care hospitals.

Today, ArCom supports 152 hospitals with life-safety equipment and because of the acquisition each hospital will become part of the Lone Star Communications family. Both companies are PSA Security Network members and PSA will continue to be a big part of their strategy moving forward, according to the announcement.

ArCom Systems now becomes a member of LSC Companies joining Lone Star Communications Grand Prairie and Lone Star Communications Houston, while expanding the integrator’s reach to 456 hospitals in five states. Watson, with more than 30 years of experience in the life-safety industry, will join the Lone Star Communications team helping with the integration and expansion of the education group for the first year.

“We are honored to have the ArCom Systems team of outstanding life-safety professionals join the Lone Star Communications family,” said Ray Bailey, president of LSC Companies. “Providers today are intensely focused on consistent quality outcomes and outstanding patient experiences. As their workloads have increased profoundly over the past few years, clinical workflow automation has become essential. The combined depth of experience makes Lone Star one of the most highly specialized and talent-rich clinical systems integrators in the state of Texas, and now we will expand our ability to help the Providers in the Arkansas and Louisiana markets to measurably improve quality and lower operating costs.”

Lone Star Communications gains 55 team members with the acquisition, leaving Lone Star Communications with more than 200 highly specialized professionals, the announcement states. The integrator is a recognized leader in life-safety communications in Texas for hundreds of independent school districts and major healthcare service providers.
