Minuteman Security Technologies Partners With Private Equity Firm

The investment from Prospect Partners will support the system integrator’s internal growth and strategic plans for national expansion.

ANDOVER, Mass. — Systems integrator Minuteman Security Technologies, based here, has received an undisclosed investment from Chicago-based private equity firm Prospect Partners.

The investment from Prospect Partners and management, led by Minuteman CEO Joseph Lynch and President & COO George Yannakopoulos, will support the company’s internal growth and national expansion, according to a press release.

Founded in 1988, Minuteman is a leading provider of enterprise security technology solutions. The company’s security systems are used by a wide range of organizations throughout the United States. The company’s clientele includes law enforcement, energy companies, mass transit, large retail chains, academic institutions, public safety agencies and community hospitals.

Minuteman recently expanded nationally and now operates five regional offices.

“A national presence is key to both our growth and diversification strategies and to providing superior security systems with the high-touch customer service for which we have become well-known,” says Lynch. “As we execute our plan, we look forward to the expertise, capital support and partnership of Prospect Partners, which has a long history of growing other companies with similar business models. We are eager to introduce exciting proprietary products, like our new TransitSentry mobile city surveillance system, the most advanced public safety solution available, to new customers across the nation.”

Minuteman’s offering includes video surveillance, access control systems, emergency communications, intrusion detection systems and public safety security solutions. The company partners with manufacturers to design, install and maintain complex security solutions for its customers.

“Minuteman is a dominant niche systems integrator with a great brand name, exceptional product lines, and an excellent reputation for service quality,” says Brett Holcomb, a principal of Prospect Partners. “Over the years, the company has consistently been recognized for its services, innovation, and growth.”

Lou Kenter, a founding principal of Prospect Partners, says his firm looks forward to supporting the integrator’s growth initiatives as it continues to build out a national presence.

“Joe and George are phenomenal leaders who have built an organization with a strong culture we are proud to join,” he says.
