Minuteman Security Technologies Grows Northeast Footprint With Norris Buy
Along with its headquarters in South Portland, Maine, Norris has branch offices in Bangor, Maine, Lee, N.H., and Burlington, Vt.
Minuteman Security Technologies has purchased Norris Inc. for undisclosed terms.
ANDOVER, Maine — Minuteman Security Technologies, a provider of enterprise security technology solutions, has acquired systems integration firm Norris Inc., of South Portland, Maine.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
With the addition of Norris’s four locations in New England, Minuteman will become the region’s largest independent full-service provider of integrated security, communication and life-safety systems, according to a press release.
“We are excited to welcome Norris into the Minuteman family,” states Joseph Lynch, Minuteman’s CEO. “As we strive to provide customers with best-in-class advanced security systems, Norris deepens our presence in a core northeastern market, expands our offering into fire life safety, and adds Vigilance, a proprietary mass notification system, to our cutting-edge technologies.”
Founded by Harty Norris in 1979 as a security systems dealer, Norris grew to offer engineered security and fire alarm systems and then progressed to selling all types of security systems, emergency call systems and communications, as well as leading technologies, specialized products, and installation and other services.
Norris, who served as board chairman, along with his brother, Brad Norris, a board advisor, have retired from the company.
