Mountain Alarm Acquires Burgarello Alarm in Reno (Nev.)
Founded by Louie Burgarello in 1972, Burgarello Alarm is a full-service alarm integrator with more than 7,000 monitored customers in Northern Nevada.
OGDEN, Utah — Mountain Alarm, based here, has acquired Burgarello Alarm in Reno, Nev., for undisclosed terms. The deal marks Mountain Alarm’s fifth acquisition in the Intermountain West in the past 18 months, according to a press release.
Founded by Louie Burgarello in 1972, Burgarello Alarm is a full-service alarm integrator with more than 40 team members and over 7,000 monitored customers in Northern Nevada.
“After dedicating 48 years of my life to the life-safety industry it was a difficult decision to sell,” Burgarello shares. “Ultimately, I chose Mountain Alarm because I believe they will do the best job taking care of the Burgarello Alarm team and customers. I’m excited to see Mountain Alarm continue to grow the business in Northern Nevada.”

I see a lot of similarities between Burgarello Alarm and Mountain Alarm; both businesses are family owned and operated, we both strive for same day service, and both teams have been empowered to treat each customer as if they are our only customer,” Garner continues. “Mountain Alarm will add a lot in the way of technology and systems to the Burgarello operations. These technology advancements will allow the Northern Nevada team to be hyper focused on taking care of customers and organic growth.”

Established in 1952, Mountain Alarm is a third-generation, family owned and operated integrator with more than 300 team members, and over 50,000 monitored accounts in 14 branch locations serving Arizona, Colorado, Montana, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming. The company focuses on commercial fire, intrusion, access control and video surveillance, along with specializing in residential security and home automation.
In March, Rod Garner, Eric’s father, who formerly served as president and CEO of the company, was posthumously inducted into the SSI Industry Hall of Fame.
