Valcom Acquires Keltron to Boost Life-Safety Event Management Portfolio
The acquisition provides Keltron the resources to accelerate development of next generation IP and other communication solutions.
ROANOKE, Va. — Valcom, a provider of emergency communication systems, based here, has acquired Keltron Corp., a provider of life-safety event management systems, for undisclosed terms.
Both companies will operate separately, sharing technology, experience and engineering to expand individual solutions and provide customers with combined technologies, according to an announcement.
For more than five decades, Waltham, Mass.-based Keltron has provided its solutions to colleges and university campuses, healthcare centers, industrial plants, commercial and cultural facilities, government and military complexes and municipalities.
Keltron UL-listed solutions are said to support and unify within a single view, multiple models and brands of alarm panels and multiple alarm-signaling technologies to provide an integrated system of fire/life-safety alarm monitoring, dispatching and reporting.
The acquisition provides Keltron the resources to accelerate development of next generation IP and other communication solutions for fire, security, emergency communications and life safety in the markets it serves.

Since its founding in 1977, Valcom has specialized in the design and manufacturing of paging, intercoms, mass notification systems (MNS), IP emergency endpoints and visual notification solutions. The company’s hardware and software solutions support commercial, higher education, healthcare facilities, K-12, military and government applications.
