AlarmQuest Hires Industry Veteran Ben Scott to Serve as President

Having been in the security industry for 15 years, Scott’s path has taken him from his early days at ADT to most recently ADS Security.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — AlarmQuest, a commercial and residential security integration business based here, has appointed industry veteran Ben Scott as president to help lead the company’s continued growth, both organically and through strategic acquisitions.

Scott joins Co-owner and CEO Jay Brown and private equity veteran Robert Gefaell, co-owner and director of acquisitions, on the company’s executive team.

Having been in the security industry for 15 years, Scott’s path has taken him from his early days at ADT to most recently ADS Security prior to being sold to Vector Security in 2019.

During his tenure at ADS, Scott served as the senior vice president over the Eastern region and was responsible for leading all branch operations and merger & acquisition efforts at the branch level. Prior to his role as senior vice president, Scott served as vice president and general manager for many years.

“I am humbled to be asked to take on this new challenge and I look forward to learning from the experienced, quality team at AlarmQuest,” Scott says. “AQ is a young company in the industry and its size allows it to be nimble and adapt quickly to the ever-present changes in our industry. AQ has a talented team of individuals with many years in the industry, and a great platform for growth.”

“Ben has been on our radar for some time now and we are excited to finally have him as part of the AQ family,” Brown says. “Ben will be leading the day-today operations for us and his knowledge of the industry and background in branch operations and M&A will continue to put AQ in a strong position to grow in our existing markets and expand into new ones.”

With offices in Winston-Salem and Statesville, N.C., AlarmQuest provides security solutions, Cloud-based access control, commercial fire and life-safety, and hosted video surveillance.
