ST. LOUIS — Potter Electric Signal Co. announces Jeff Klein has been hired as President of Fire & Security. Klein is joining Potter after previously working at Chamberlain Group in Chicago as their Vice President/General Manager of Commercial Business.
Klein will be taking over for Dave Kosciuk, who will be moving into the role of Senior Vice President of Business Development before retiring at the end of 2020.
Klein received his BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and his MBA from Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business. Prior to his time at Chamberlain, Klein held multiple roles at Honeywell Security and Fire’s North America division, including Vice President of Marketing and Senior Director of Integration.
“We are grateful for Dave Kosciuk’s 12 years of dedication to Potter. He grew our Fire and Security division exponentially and put us in a great position to continue as a leader in the industry,” says Potter Chief Executive Officer Gerry Connolly. “While we will miss Dave, I am very excited to have Jeff as our next President for our Fire and Security division. His extensive experience in both the fire industry and the commercial building technology sector will be a great asset to Potter as we continue to grow.”
Connolly was named CEO of Potter last July. He replaced Bernie Lears, as had been planned since Gryphon Investors made a majority investment in the company in 2017. Lears elected to retire after almost 40 years with the company and continues to serve on Potter’s board of directors as a vice chairman.
In other recent Potter news, the company announced the integration of Potter fire alarm systems with the IntelliView Dashboard. The web-based dashboard allows the user to monitor their Potter fire alarm control panels in addition to the IntelliGen nitrogen generators from anywhere in the world, according to the company. You can learn more about that integration, here.
