U.S. Capitol Special Agents Receive John J. Duffy Memorial Award
The John J. Duffy Memorial Award is named for NCISS’ first president, John J. Duffy, co-founder of Per Mar Security Services.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The National Council of Investigation and Security Services (NCISS) announcesU.S. Capitol Police Special Agents Crystal Griner and David Bailey are recipients of the John J. Duffy Memorial Award.
The award is named in honor of John J. Duffy, the first president of NCISS and co-founder of Per Mar Security Services. The award is the council’s highest distinction and is given every other year to a person or entity outside the NCISS membership for their service, heroism or other exemplary deed.
Griner and Bailey are being honored for acts in stopping a shooter and saving the life of House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) and others at a softball practice in Alexandria, Va., on June 14, 2017. They will receive special recognition at the annual NCISS “Hit the Hill Luncheon” to be held March 20 at the U.S. Capitol Building.
Scalise and other representatives and senators will be joining NCISS to honor the special agents.
Established in 1953, Per Mar Security Services is the largest, family-owned security company in the Midwest with more than 2,400 employees, operating in 22 branch locations and 19 satellite locations.
“Special Agents Griner and Bailey are true heroes and I can’t think of more deserving individuals to get the award named for my grandfather. They have demonstrated an example of selflessness that all of us should strive for,” says Brad Duffy, president of security officer services at Per Mar and first vice president of NCISS.
Based in Washington, D.C., NCISS advocates for the security and investigations industry. The primary purpose of the organization is to monitor and direct federal legislation that affects the security and investigation industry.
