PPVAR Panel to Explore Emerging Technologies, Verified Response at ISC West

Moderated by I-View Now President Larry Folsom, the panel will feature subject matter experts from law enforcement, technology, defense and security.

LAS VEGAS — The Partnership for Priority Verified Alarm Response (PPVAR) will host a panel discussion titled “Emerging Technologies: The Effect on Verification & Priority Police Response” at ISC West 2018 on Wednesday.

The moderated panel will feature subject matter experts from law enforcement, technology, defense and security. Topics of discussion will center on the various aspects of priority response and verified alarms, including future technologies, industry forecasts, perspective from law enforcement and ASAP-to-PSAP as a delivery method for priority response.

Larry Folsom, president of I-View Now, who also serves as president of PPVAR, will lead the five-member panel in the discussion.

“I am honored to moderate this powerful group of industry thought leaders during ISC West,” Folsom says. “The goal of the session is to enlighten the industry on how emerging technologies and verified alarms will be a significant component of next-gen monitoring and how it will affect police response.”

The guest speakers are:

Scott Harkins — Vice president of partner development within Honeywell’s Connected Home & Building organizations. In this role, Harkins manages the relationships with technology companies, the developer community and the startup community.

David L. Holl — Director of public safety for Lower Allen Township, Cumberland County, Pa. Holl has a 40-year background in public safety and is currently responsible for police, fire and emergency medical services in his jurisdiction. Holl joined PPVAR in October of 2017 and is already making an impact with his passion for verified alarm response and with his understanding of PSAP design and inner workings. 

Gene LaNois — General manager for the professional Channel in the Americas, Google, where he leads all business and partnerships with professional trades.

John E. Mack, III — Executive vice president, co-head of investment banking and head of mergers & acquisitions at Imperial Capital. Mack joined Imperial Capital in 2008 as part of the firm’s acquisition of certain assets of USBX, an investment banking firm focused on M&A.

Don Young — Named CIO of ADT in May 2016. For the past several years, Young has served on the Board of Directors for The Monitoring Association (TMA). He is a past president of PPVAR.
