Protection One-VOXCOM Deal for Canadian Assets Falls Through

CULVER CITY, Calif.

Protection One Inc. announces that the agreement to sell its Canadian assets to VOXCOM Inc. has been terminated. The transaction was contingent upon VOXCOM arranging financing, including an equity offering, which was not completed by the Nov. 1, 1999 expiration of the purchase agreement. VOXCOM’s purchase of Pro One’s Canadian assets was first announced Sept. 29, 1999. “Our Canadian operation continues to perform well,” says John E. Mack III, CEO of Protection One. “We will continue to evaluate our options, which include continuing to run the Canadian operation as well as pursuing a sale with another purchaser.”
