2018 SAMMY Award Winners Demonstrate Best Marketing Practices

Winners of SSI’s 23rd Sales & Marketing Awards (SAMMYs) are profiled, offering an abundance of ideas for today’s security companies to emulate — and reap the bottom-line rewards in the process.

How does your company stand out among the sea of security providers? Sure, your products and services may be top-notch, but what do you do to stay a step or two ahead of the competition?

After all, most security dealers are, well, security dealers not marketers. That being said, sales is what keeps you in business — but whether you’ve learned on the fly, invested heavily in training, pinned Paul Boucherle’s monthly SSI Business Fitness columns to the office fridge or otherwise, chances are you’re open to even more sales & marketing strategies.

As always, SSI is here to help, again with assistance from some of the brightest minds and most successful companies — big and small — in the industry. Now in its 23rd year, the annual Sales & Marketing Awards (SAMMYs) recognize installing security integrators, dealers and monitoring providers for their marketing, installation and overall business excellence.

The SAMMYs program, whose winners were unveiled on the eve of ISC West in Las Vegas, raises the bar for the entire electronic security industry by sharing the best ideas and practices with all.

The links below offer a wealth of ideas when it comes to upping your game in the realms of display advertising, website and social media presence, special promotions, vehicle wraps, community outreach and more.

It’s your opportunity to glean from successful and proven initiatives, in some cases from familiar names you may already know or that you’ve read about in previous SAMMYs coverage.

This year nearly 130 entries were judged independently by a panel of industry marketing and PR professionals. SSI would like to thank: Tom Brigham, principal, Brigham Scully Communications; Jon Daum, partner, Daum Weigle Public Relations; Lucette Nicoll, president, Nicoll Public Relations; Sue Toscano, principal, Toscano Communications; and Chelsie Woods, principal, Eclipse Media Group. Additionally, special thanks go out to program sponsors: ISC West, PSA Security Network, ESA, ADI, Altronix and ADT/Protection 1.
