Profiling the Spectacular Winners of the 2020 SAMMY Awards

Winning sales and marketing best practices developed by security dealers and integrators highlight the 25th Annual SAMMY Awards.

A steadfast commitment to securing the homes and organizations of clientele is paramount to a vast majority of installing security contractors. Along with that pursuit must be a parallel strategic track to generate sales, the lifeblood of any business.

Of course, there is no singular way to create robust sales; many different marketing stratagems can help a business grow its customer base. The key is to identify what works best for you. In that pursuit, your answers might be found by studying what best practices your industry brethren deploy.

The SAMMY Awards program is the only one of its kind in the security industry to recognize and honor dealers and integrators for their marketing, business, installation and overall excellence. Traditionally hosted as a gala affair on the eve of ISC West in Las Vegas, the coronavirus outbreak forced ISC West 2020 to be postponed (since canceled and converted to a virtual event) and thereby obligating the SAMMYs to go virtual.

You can view the online announcing of the winners, presented by SSI Associate Publisher/Editor-in-Chief Scott Goldfine, by clicking here.

The following profiles spotlight the winners of the 10 marketing categories from the program’s Silver Anniversary. Our hope and intent is that you will unearth ideas to incorporate into your own marketing endeavors. Of course, we encourage you to enter the program next year for a shot at SAMMY stardom.

SSI would like to thank the panel of independent judges who evaluated around 160 entries. These individuals are among the industry’s top marketing and PR professionals. They are: Tom Brigham, principal, Brigham Scully Communications; Jon Daum, partner, Daum Weigle Public Relations; Tory Hinton, director, public relations, Maize Marketing; David Morgan, co-founder, Security Dealer Marketing; Beverly Steinberg, owner, GBL Public Relations; and Chelsie Woods, principal, Eclipse Media Group.

For making the 2020 SAMMY Awards possible, special thanks go out to Gold program sponsors Honeywell and Resideo, and Silver sponsors ADI, ESA, ISC West, PSA, Campus Safety Conference and Total Tech Summit. Additionally, don’t miss the Installers and Integrated Installations of the Year in the July issue.
