Schmidt Security Pro Gets Saucy to Win 2023 SAMMY Award for Best Promotional Giveaway
Schmidt Security Pro took a unique approach to drumming up more business, mixing in a little Cajun flavor to give to their customers.

Schmidt Security Pro gave the 2023 SSI Sales & Marketing Awards (better known around here as the SAMMYs) judges a great taste of how creative security companies can get with their promotional giveaway ideas.
The SAMMY Awards, which are presented annually at the ISC West trade show and now in their 28th year, recognize installing security integrators, dealers and monitoring providers for their marketing, installation and overall business excellence.
“We wanted to come up with a promotional item that was unique, had a high perceived value and had ‘staying power’ that wouldn’t get quickly tossed out,” says President Brian Schmidt. “When we happened upon the most delicious Cajun Garlic Sauce and learned the manufacturer would private label, we knew we had a winner!”
Saucy Move Stirs Up New & Existing Subscriber Sales
Indeed they did, and it leaves their subscribers salivating for more … sauce and security solutions. The Schmidt Security Pro “Garlic Sauce” and Schmidt Fire “Spicy Garlic Sauce” provide a yummy all-purpose enhancement to meats, sauces, soups, pasta, pizza, chicken wings, seafood and many other foods, Schmidt notes.
“Customers love the flavor and an eight-ounce bottle keeps our brand in front of customers for many months — until they eventually run out and need another bottle,” he adds. “As we like to say: our All-Purpose Garlic Sauce ‘Protects and enhances your food’s flavor’ and our Schmidt Fire Spicy Garlic Sauce ‘adds flavor and heat to your meat.’”
The Cajun sauces — nicely packaged with thank-you notes and recipe suggestions — serve many purposes, Schmidt reports, as the Mansfield, Ohio-based dealer:
- delivered them during the holidays with a Thank You note to its top-tier clients
- used them as gifts when cultivating relationships with new customers
- shared them as a “thank you” for business from new customers
“The sauces have been well-received and stand out amongst the more common promotional items that customers receive,” Schmidt says.
