Security Industry Association Appoints Kenia Caballero as Industry Affairs Manager
Caballero is charged with growing the association’s presence in Mexico and leading development of Expo Seguridad Mexico programs.
SILVER SPRING, Md. – The Security Industry Association (SIA) has appointed Kenia Caballero to serve as its new industry affairs manager.
- Expand SIA’s global team and work with the association to grow its presence in Mexico;
- Serve as the primary point of contact on behalf of SIA for key programs and events;
- Lead development of SIA’s Expo Seguridad México conference programs;
- Oversee networking events both at the Expo Seguridad México show and in the Mexico region (including offerings related to the SIA RISE and Women in Security Forum communities);
- Serve as the staff liaison for SIA’s International Relations Committee, an authoritative resource for SIA members and their partners in priority international security markets beginning with the security market in Mexico; and
- Recruit Mexico-based companies to become members of the association.
“SIA is taking this step, beginning with Mexico, as part of its incremental international strategy,” the association announcement says.
“I am delighted to join SIA during this exciting phase of its growth journey in Mexico,” says Caballero in the announcement.
“I am very much looking forward to drawing on my experiences and ideas to help power SIA’s presence, foster understanding of members’ needs, represent and advocate for their interests and make a difference to our members in Mexico, alongside SIA’s impressive and talented team,” she says.
Why SIA Hired Kenia Caballero
Caballero comes to SIA with more than 15 years of marketing and events experience in a variety of industries, including pharma, insurance, IT, security and life sciences.
Prior to joining SIA, she served as global visibility manager at Danaher, focusing on growth, funnel management and customer engagement, worked as the marketing manager for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean at Axis Communications and launched and drove adoption of products and services for enterprise, government and open-source communities at Microsoft.
Caballero holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Universidad Intercontinental in Mexico City.
“SIA is proud to welcome Kenia Caballero to her new role and is thrilled to have her as part of the SIA team,” says SIA CEO Don Erickson in the association announcement. “Kenia is joining SIA at an exciting time for the association and our industry.
“Her extensive knowledge and experience in corporate marketing, sales and events will be invaluable in helping SIA to move our initiatives forward, driving growth and development of SIA’s presence in Mexico and reinforcing the value of Expo Seguridad México,” he says.
Expo Seguridad México, from RX (operator of the ISC Security Events, ISC West and ISC East), is the largest event for the security industry in the region and SIA is the premier sponsor of this security expo.
Each year at Expo Seguridad Mexico – a three-day meeting with national and international technology, solutions and knowledge for manufacturers, distributors, integrators and users – the security industry gathers to interact, update and exchange knowledge.
The 2024 event will take place April 16-18 at the Citibanamex Center in Mexico City, Mexico.
