There’s No Shame in Fame
Psst. Hey, you! Yeah, you. That’s right. Think you’re such hot stuff, that you’re better than the rest, superior to all the competitors? I know your type … just perfect to enter your company to be recognized as SECURITY SALES & INTEGRATION’s first-ever Installer of the Year! Look, this is no time to be overly humble or modest. Good work and corporate citizenry deserve recognition. Let me tell you more.
The Installer of the Year will be announced and honored as part of the 14th annual SAMMY Awards celebration. The SAMMYs is the industry’s leading program promoting excellence in sales, marketing and installations among North America’s installing security and monitoring companies. What does it take to be considered for the brand-new, highly prestigious Installer of the Year award? Being able to answer in the affirmative and provide supporting documentation to the following:
1) Does your company provide exceptional service to its customers?
2) What business practices and marketing strategies does your company use to ensure its success?
3) Does your company make sure its personnel are properly trained?
4) Does your company keep its employees motivated and fulfilled?
5) Does your company contribute to the communities it serves?
6) Does your company contribute to the security industry?
The winning company and runners-up will be profiled in an SSI feature article during 2009, serving as a role model for others to aspire to and exemplifying professionalism for the industry at large. Nice additional perks for the finalists and victor include a boost in employee morale, gaining a compelling marketing vehicle to generate new business, and networking with a who’s who of the security industry’s power players at the SAMMYs reception and ceremony.
Held the eve of ISC West (Tuesday, March 31, 2009) at the Venetian in Las Vegas, the SAMMYs gala has become the place to be and be seen prior to the big show. It’s no wonder as the event has grown in recent years and the festivities now feature lots of very special, fun and entertaining presentations. Let’s call it SSI’s Industry Honors.
In addition to the Installer of the Year, several sales and marketing awards, and Integrated Installation of the Year honors, superior practices in false alarm reduction will be saluted with the 4th annual Police Dispatch Quality (PDQ) award. Plus, our industry’s luminaries and visionaries will be immortalized for outstanding lifetime achievement by being inducted into SSI’s Hall of Fame.
Several exciting tweaks and changes have been introduced to the SAMMYs program this year, so even if you are familiar with the process you’ll want to be sure to review the latest information, judging criteria and entry forms at www.thesammyawards.com. To retrieve all the pertinent materials for the PDQ program — which is jointly organized by SSI, the Security Industry Alarm Coalition (SIAC) and False Alarm Reduction Association (FARA) — visit www.siacinc.org and check out the all-new online questionnaire that makes entering easier than ever. All materials are due by Dec. 31.
SAMMY finalists and winners are spotlighted in the June 2009 issue of SSI, while the PDQ and Integrated Installation of the Year winners and runners-up are given case study treatment, respectively, in the May and July 2009 editions.
Whether you are a small, midsize or large operator, all it takes is to believe in what you do and a little bit of time to enter. Is it worth the effort? Just ask all those who parlay the exposure into increased business and happy employees, and those who enter on a regular basis to enjoy a host of tangible and intangible benefits.
