Time to Get With SSI’s Many Awards Programs for Security Integrators

Find out the many ways, and benefits, that Security Sales & Integration can work for your security systems integration company.

Ever wonder what a company featured in an issue of Security Sales & Integration has over your own business – in many cases, not much! The difference typically is that someone either within or on behalf of that enterprise initiated an outreach or marketing effort of some kind to me or another person associated with SSI. As long as there is an industry-relevant story to tell (i.e. installation project), useful information to convey (i.e. RMR opportunity) or news to share (i.e. acquisition), it’s really just that simple – all subject to editorial discretion.

When leveraged, the value of that print and on-line exposure to thousands of people can give your business a huge boost externally to customers and prospects, as well as internally to employees and new recruits. As most of the industry’s leading companies well understand and exploit, the payoff far exceeds the time/resource investment.

I periodically speak at industry events on this topic of how installing security systems dealers and integrators as well as monitored service providers can gain exposure in the media for their businesses. Many do not realize how straightforward and accessible it can be, at least through a vehicle like SSI whose mission is to help those companies succeed.

So this month I wanted to not only encourage a general proactive approach regarding the standard business activities outlined above but also urge participation in SSI‘s many special programs, which have recently been expanded and I am sure there are company owners and managers unaware of these changes and opportunities. I encourage you to save this for future reference, and share with key personnel within your organization to make sure your firm is not left out.

SSI Industry Leaders– Launched in 2015, this program is open to installing security dealers/integrators as a way to recognize those with a clear vision of where their business is heading and how they will succeed, particularly in vertical or niche markets. Participation is free, with those making the list featured in an upcoming issue of SSI.

Supplier Stellar Service Awards – Introduced in 2015, this program allows installing security dealers/integrators to vote for the manufacturers, distributors and central stations that deliver the highest levels of service and support. Participation is easy and free, and winners will be announced at the ESX show and featured in an upcoming issue of SSI.

Most Valuable Product (MVP) Awards – New for 2015, this paid program honors the industry’s most remarkable products and the companies behind them. Judged by a panel of experienced integrators, winners are recognized at ISC West; finalists/winners are featured in SSI‘s June issue.

Sales & Marketing Awards (SAMMYs) – For 20 years, this program has honored installing and monitoring dealer/integrator companies for their sales & marketing excellence. Finalists/winners are recognized during a gala at ISC West and featured in the June issue. Start getting your 2016 materials in order!

Installer of the Year– Recognizes an installing dealer/integrator company that excels in customer service, business practices and marketing strategies, optimally training and motivating employees, contributing to communities served and security industry causes. Finalists and winners honored at ISC West and featured in July’s Best of the Best Issue.

Integrated Installation of the Year– Salutes an outstanding project for its innovation, systems design, integration of at least three electronic systems, seamlessness of installation, uniqueness of application and ease of operation, and end-user satisfaction. Finalists and winners honored at ISC West and featured in July’s Best of the Best Issue.

Industry Hall of Fame – Since 2004, representing the highest honor for extraordinary professional-ism, conduct and achievement for those who have made an unforgettable impact on the industry over a long career. Inductees are chosen by committee and featured in March’s ISC West Show Issue, but anyone can suggest someone for consideration.

Police Dispatch Quality (PDQ) Award – Presented in conjunction with SIAC, FARA and IQ, this 10-year-old program promotes partnerships in public safety by recognizing companies for working with local law enforcement to best manage alarm systems and reduce false alarms. Finalists and a winner are honored at the ESX show and featured in October’s Alarm Response Issue.

Marketing Marvel Award– Presented in conjunction with CSAA, this program selects a model organization to help educate security companies on best marketing practices and encourage monitoring providers to attain the CSAA Five Diamond designation. Finalists and a winner are honored at the ESX show and featured in SSI‘s November issue
